Hammond 1554PB6A 6-Hole 30.5mm Pushbutton Enclosure, 1554VA Body

The 1554PB6A is a six-hole, 30.5 mm pushbutton enclosure built on the 1554VA body. It shares the 9.45 x 6.30 in footprint and 3.54 in depth of the 1554PB6, but its lid closes with six cover screws rather than four and it takes the dedicated 1554VAPL inner panel. It suits control builders who need a six-position operator station in sealed polycarbonate.

Material is UL94 5VA polycarbonate (at 3 mm), suitable for outdoor use and finished in light gray RAL 7035. The lid seals on a replaceable, preformed, high temperature U.L. listed silicone rubber gasket and is fastened with six self-captivating M4 stainless steel machine screws into integral stainless steel bushings; recommended cover screw torque is 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m). Lid screws and mounting holes stay outside the gasket seal.

Inside, the base offers DIN rail mounting tabs, threaded M3 brass inserts and standoffs for M3.5 or #6 self tapping screws, and card guides for 1.5 mm PC boards. The box mounts through Ø4.00 mm holes, and 1554FT mounting feet are available.

The 1554PB6A is rated IP66 and NEMA 4, 4X, 12 and 13; the series notes that six-pushbutton enclosures do not meet Type 6/6P. It is cULus listed under File E65324, UL 508A approved in polycarbonate, and RoHS and REACH compliant. The 22 mm hole version is 1554MPB6A.
