Hammond 1553CPLGY-10 Gray 1553C Replacement End Panels, 10-Pack

The 1553CPLGY-10 is a 10-pack of light gray end panels for size C enclosures in the 1553 Series of soft-sided handheld cases. It is a convenient way for OEM and prototype builders to keep spare or pre-machined panels for grey 1553C enclosures.

Each panel is ABS plastic in light gray and measures 2.57 x 0.97 x 0.11 in (65 x 25 x 3 mm). In the series ordering table it is the gray option for the 1553C size, with 1553CPLBK-10 as the black alternative.

Because 1553 size C enclosures ship with a removable front panel, spare panels can be drilled or cut for connectors, switches, cable entries or indicators without altering the case. Keeping a pack on hand also makes it easy to change a panel layout between product revisions.

When machining the panels, note that some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS plastic. The manufacturer advises against acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, thread-locking compounds, and cutting or tapping fluid, and recommends using an air blast to clear chips away when making modifications.
