Hammond 1553CPLBK-10 Black 1553C Replacement End Panels, 10-Pack

The 1553CPLBK-10 is a pack of 10 black end panels for size C enclosures in the 1553 Series of soft-sided handheld cases. It lets OEM builders and prototypers keep spare panels on hand, rework panel cut-outs without scrapping the enclosure, or stock pre-machined panels for production runs.

Each panel is molded from ABS plastic in black and measures 2.57 x 0.97 x 0.11 in (65 x 25 x 3 mm). The series ordering table lists these as the extra end panels for the 1553C size, alongside the gray 1553CPLGY-10.

1553 Series size C enclosures are supplied with a removable front panel, so a spare panel gives you a blank surface to drill or cut for switches, connectors, cable entries or LEDs while the original stays untouched. Black panels match the black 1553C enclosures.

When machining the panels, note that some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS plastic. The manufacturer advises against acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, thread-locking compounds, and cutting or tapping fluid, and recommends using an air blast to clear chips away when making modifications.
