The 1553CGY is the all-grey version of the size C 1553 Series handheld enclosure: a light grey ABS body wrapped in a grey soft plastic overmold. It suits engineers and product builders packaging handheld controllers, data loggers and instruments who want a finished, comfortable case in a neutral colour.
Molded from general purpose ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flame rating, the case has a recessed top cover for a membrane display or keypad and PC board standoffs molded into the base. This single end panel version, without a battery door, is rated IP54.
Overall size is 117 mm x 79 mm x 32 mm (4.61 x 3.11 x 1.26 in), with a nominal listed size of 117 x 79 x 33 mm. The interior is 110.25 mm long and 27.00 mm high, and the maximum PC board is 109 mm x 69 mm (4.29 x 2.72 in).
The 1553CGY is supplied with the top, bottom, removable front plastic panel and 2 cover screws. As a grey 1553 enclosure it uses nickel plated screws; the replacement lid screw pack is SC1553C100 (silver). Tighten cover screws to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). PC board mounting screws are sold separately as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100.
It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap at 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg).
