The 1553BBKBKBAT combines a black ABS body, a black soft plastic overmold and a battery door and compartment in the 1553B size. It is the uniform-black choice for designers of battery-powered handheld electronics such as scanners, remotes and portable test gear.
The enclosure measures 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm). Because the battery compartment occupies part of the case, the maximum P.C. board is 78 x 67 mm (3.07 x 2.64 in) per the ordering table. The drawing lists an inner box length of 110.24 mm and inner height of 18.50 mm, with PCB bosses on the bottom cover and a recessed top cover for a membrane display or keypad.

Molded from general purpose ABS, the 1553BBKBKBAT is UL94 HB rated and RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.17 lbs (0.08 kg). Replacement lid screws are 1593QS100BK; order 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100 for PCB screws. Spare BS61 9V battery kits and 1553HDR-BKIT AA clip kits are listed as accessories. Recommended cover torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
