The 1553BGY is the light grey version of the regular 1553B soft-sided hand held enclosure, with a grey ABS body and grey soft plastic overmold. Designers of test tools, handheld meters and control pendants use it where a neutral, ergonomic case is preferred.
The part page lists 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm). According to the drawing, the inner box measures 110.25 mm long, 71.02 mm wide at center and 18.50 mm high. The maximum PCB is 109 x 70 mm on the part page and 105 x 61 mm in the ordering table, and the board aligns on bosses molded into the bottom cover. The top cover is recessed with a 100.71 mm inlay for a membrane display or keypad.
Material is general purpose ABS; the enclosure is IP54 and UL94 HB rated and RoHS and REACH compliant. Gray 1553 enclosures include nickel plated screws, and the 1553BGY ships with top, bottom, a removable front plastic panel (65.15 x 16.81 mm viewing area) and 2 cover screws. No P.C. board is supplied.
The silver replacement lid screw pack is 1593QS100 (#4 x 3/4 in). Order 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100 for PCB screws, 1599CLIPGY for a grey belt or pocket clip, 1553BPCB for a prototype board and 1553BPLGY-10 for spare grey end panels. Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
