The 1553BBKBK is the all-black version of the 1553B regular hand held enclosure: black ABS with a black soft plastic overmold rather than the grey overmold of the 1553BBK. It is a good fit where a uniform dark finish is wanted on handheld controllers, readers and portable instruments.
Size is 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm) on the part page. The drawing details an inner box of 110.25 mm length, 71.02 mm width at the center (62.86 mm at the end) and 18.50 mm height. A board up to 109 x 70 mm is listed on the part page (105 x 61 mm in the ordering table), aligned on PCB bosses molded into the bottom cover. The recessed top inlay, 100.71 mm long and 0.50 mm deep, accepts a membrane keypad or display.
The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS, rated IP54 and UL94 HB, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships shrink wrapped with top, bottom, a removable front plastic panel and 2 cover screws; the P.C. board is not supplied. The front panel's viewing area is 65.15 x 16.81 mm.
Replacement black lid screws are 1593QS100BK. PCB mounting screws (1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100) and a 1599CLIP belt or pocket clip are ordered separately. Tighten the covers to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). The 1553BBKBK weighs 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg) shipped.
