The 1553BBK is the regular 1553B size of the soft-sided hand held enclosure line, molded in black ABS with a grey soft plastic overmold along the sides. It is built for OEM and product engineers who need an ergonomic housing for handheld instruments, controllers and remotes.
The part page gives the size as 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm). Inside, the drawing shows an inner box 110.25 mm long, 71.02 mm wide at the center and 18.50 mm high. PCB bosses molded into the bottom cover locate the board; the part page lists a maximum board of 109 x 70 mm, the ordering table 105 x 61 mm, and the drawing's board outline is 109.14 x 60.86 mm. The top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad with a 100.71 mm inlay.

Black replacement lid screws are 1593QS100BK (#4 x 3/4 in), and PCB screws are sold separately as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100. Accessories for the B size include the 1553BPCB prototype board, the 1553BIR-BULK infrared end panel and 10-packs of coloured end panels. Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m), and the 1553BBK can be factory modified on request.
