The 1551ACLR is a translucent clear ABS subminiature enclosure in the 1551MINI series, sized at 35 mm x 20 mm x 15 mm (1.38 in x 0.79 in x 0.61 in). The series is intended for dongles and small printed circuit boards with USB connectors, and the clear version lets the board inside remain visible.
It is molded in general purpose ABS with a satin texture finish and a UL94 HB flammability rating, and it is designed to meet IP54. The cover has a 0.50 mm [0.02 in] recess for label installation.
Board mounting posts molded into the base accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (not included; see 1553WTS100, pack of 100), and the maximum PC board size is 15.5 mm x 29 mm. Two #2 x 1/2" self-tapping lid screws are included; clear boxes come with silver screws. Recommended torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).
The 1551ACLR is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a bag at a listed 0.01 lbs. Spare silver lid screws are 1551USB50 (pack of 50). For this size with a USB-A male connector cutout, see the 1551USB1 series. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models can be had in .stp or .x_t format. As with any ABS enclosure, avoid acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds, cutting fluids and strong solvents, which can damage the plastic.
