The 1551ATRD is the translucent red version of the smallest 1551MINI subminiature enclosure, measuring 35 mm x 20 mm x 15 mm (1.38 in x 0.79 in x 0.61 in). It is intended for dongles and tiny printed circuit boards with USB connectors where a coloured, see-through case is wanted.
It is molded in general purpose ABS with a satin texture finish and a UL94 HB flammability rating. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54, and its cover is recessed 0.50 mm [0.02 in] to take a label.
The maximum PC board size is 15.5 mm x 29 mm. Mounting posts inside accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws, which are not supplied (order 1553WTS100, pack of 100). The two included #2 x 1/2" self-tapping lid screws are black on red boxes; recommended torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).
The 1551ATRD is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, with a listed shipping weight of 0.01 lbs. Spare black lid screws are 1551USB50BK (pack of 50). If you need a USB-A male connector cutout in this size, see the 1551USB1 series. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models can be had in .stp or .x_t format. As with any ABS enclosure, avoid acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds, cutting fluids and strong solvents, which can damage the plastic.
