Hammond 1551BBK 50 x 25mm Subminiature Black ABS Enclosure

The 1551BBK is the mid-size 1551MINI subminiature enclosure in black ABS, measuring 50 mm x 25 mm x 15 mm (1.97 in x 0.98 in x 0.61 in). It is built for dongles and small printed circuit boards with USB connectors and gives more board room than the 35 mm A size while keeping the same 15 mm profile.

Molded from general purpose ABS in black (RAL 9011), it has a satin texture finish, a UL94 HB flammability rating and is designed to meet IP54. The lid is recessed with a 0.50 mm [0.02 in] inlay depth so a label can be applied neatly.

The maximum PC board size is 20.5 mm x 44 mm. Standoffs molded into the interior accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws, which are not included (1553WTS100, pack of 100). Two black #2 x 1/2" self-tapping lid screws are supplied; the drawing recommends 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m) torque.

The 1551BBK is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, and has a listed shipping weight of 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg). Replacement black lid screws are 1551USB50BK (pack of 50). This size with a USB-A male connector cutout is the 1551USB2 series. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models can be had in .stp or .x_t format. As with any ABS enclosure, avoid acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds, cutting fluids and strong solvents, which can damage the plastic.
