Hammond 1551ABK 35 x 20mm Subminiature Black ABS Enclosure

The 1551ABK is the smallest size in the 1551MINI subminiature enclosure series, molded in black ABS plastic and measuring 35 mm x 20 mm x 15 mm (1.38 in x 0.79 in x 0.61 in). It is designed for dongles and tiny printed circuit boards with USB connectors, making it a fit for embedded developers, product designers and OEM engineers packaging very small electronics.

The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS in black (RAL 9011) with a satin texture finish and a UL94 HB flammability rating. The cover is recessed 0.50 mm [0.02 in] so a label sits flush, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

Standoffs are molded into the interior for board mounting; they accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws, which are not included (order 1553WTS100, pack of 100). The maximum PC board size is 15.5 mm x 29 mm. The lid fastens with the two #2 x 1/2" self-tapping screws supplied, black to match the box, at a recommended torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).

The 1551ABK is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, with a listed shipping weight of 0.01 lbs. Extra black lid screws are 1551USB50BK (pack of 50). The same 35 x 20 mm size with a USB-A male connector cutout is the 1551USB1 series. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models can be had in .stp or .x_t format. As with any ABS enclosure, avoid acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds, cutting fluids and strong solvents, which can damage the plastic.
