Hammond 1550Z104BK 64 x 58 mm Black Thick-Wall Watertight Diecast Box

The 1550Z104BK is the textured black version of the 64 mm x 58 mm 1550Z104, a thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure. It gives OEM and field-electronics builders a compact, black, impact-rated housing for sensors and interface boards, cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.

The tough polyester powder coat covers both the outside and inside of the enclosure and is intended to last even after machining. Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy. Four stainless steel Philips head M4 - 0.7 x 20mm cover screws sit outside the gasket protection area, so o-rings are not needed, and the pre-formed one-piece silicone gasket installs into the lid groove with a -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F) rating. Recommended torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m).

Listed size is 2.54 in x 2.3 in x 1.39 in (65 mm x 58 mm x 35 mm), with a 0.20 in (5 mm) lid per the series table. The drawing gives inside dimensions of 57.05 mm [2.25 in] x 50.85 mm [2.00 in] x 27.89 mm [1.10 in] deep, and the listed maximum PC board is 38.61 mm x 43.31 mm. The walls have no internal ribs, the blind thru-box holes outside the gasket ring allow wall mounting, and there is provision for a #6 self-tapping ground screw.

The 1550Z104BK is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13, and IK08 per IEC62262; the series was independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68, and customers should conduct their own testing. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in shrink wrap, with a 0.29 lbs (0.13 kg) shipping weight.
