The 1490MD2 is a two-hole sloped consolet sized for 22.5 mm pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights. From the 1490 Series of Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosures, it is ideal for wall or surface mounting and gives two controls an angled face toward the operator.
The enclosure measures 3.50 in H x 5.50 in W x 4.88 in D (89 x 140 x 124 mm). On the drawing, the door is 5.87 x 3.87 in, the two holes are 0.89 in diameter on 2.25 in spacing, and the welded brackets have 0.25 in mounting holes. The front cover slope is either 30° or 60° depending on mounting position.
It is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. The cover is not hinged; captive cover screws thread into sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive help keep dirt, dust, oil and water out. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating, with a bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.
Ratings are UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and the 1490MD2 complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54 with appropriate components. Shipping weight is listed as 2 lbs (0.91 kg). The 30.5 mm version is 1490D2.
