The Hammond 1485CM1 is a 1" nipple for 4 x 4 N12 wireway, part of the 1485 M Series. It serves as a short connector for electricians and panel builders tying a 4 x 4 lay-in wireway into an enclosure or neighbouring component where only a small gap needs closing.
Made of steel with a gray finish, the 1485CM1 has a 5.38 in square flange, a 4.63 in body and a 3.86 in inside opening, with a 0.99 in length on the drawing. Mounting holes are 0.28 in diameter and the corners are drawn with a 0.38 in radius.
One flat sealing plate is included. Keep the series application note in mind: lay-in nipples come with a special sealing plate which cannot be used adjacent to swivel nipples, and 1487 Series nipples should be used in that position.
