Hammond 1441-36BK3 17x12x3 in Satin Black Steel Chassis

The 1441-36BK3 is a satin black powder painted steel chassis measuring 17 in x 12 in x 3 in (432 x 305 x 76 mm). Part of the 1441 Series, it is the black counterpart of the grey 1441-36 and gives tube, vintage-style and other electronic projects a wide, 3 in tall steel base with a dark finish.

It is spot welded from 18 gauge steel, which the drawing specifies as 0.048 in (1.22 mm) thick. Measured inside, the drawing gives 429.36 mm [16.90 in] of length, 302.36 mm [11.90 in] of width and 73.76 mm [2.90 in] of height. The chassis itself is 76.20 mm [3.00 in] tall, and 77.11 mm [3.04 in] once a bottom plate is attached.

For a fully black assembly, pair it with the 1431-34BK3 satin black bottom panel listed in the ordering table (the gray 1431-34 also fits). The bottom plate is 0.036 in steel, punched with four 3/16 in holes, and mounts through the 1/8 in holes provided in the chassis. The 1421J6BK pack supplies six black 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws; natural finish 1421J6 is also offered. No perforated cover is listed for this size, and all components, hardware and rubber feet are sold separately.
