Hammond 1441-38BK3 17x14x3 in Satin Black Steel Chassis

The 1441-38BK3 is a satin black, 17 x 14 x 3 in (432 x 356 x 76 mm) steel chassis from the 1441 Series. It gives the deep 14 in footprint of the grey 1441-38 a dark powder painted finish, making it a fit for tube, vintage-style and other electronic builds where appearance matters as much as mounting space.

Construction is spot welded 18 gauge steel, called out on the drawing as 0.048 in (1.22 mm) thick. The drawing lists an inner box of 429.36 mm [16.90 in] by 353.16 mm [13.90 in] by 73.76 mm [2.90 in]. The chassis stands 76.20 mm [3.00 in] tall on its own and 77.11 mm [3.04 in] with a bottom plate attached.
