The 1414N4PHSSI is a 10 x 8 x 4 in (254 x 203 x 102 mm) Type 4X junction box made from 304 stainless steel, part of the 1414 N4 PH SS Series. The 10 x 8 in face offers more panel area than the 8 x 6 in sizes while staying 4 in deep, suiting terminal wiring, electrical junction or instrument enclosures in places that are hosed down, very wet or corrosive.
Construction is 16 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, left in a natural stainless, smooth brushed finish. A continuous stainless steel hinged cover closes onto a seamless poured-in place gasket and is secured with stainless steel clamps and screws. Welded brackets are provided for mounting the enclosure, and inside, tapped studs carry the included removable 14 gauge inner panel, which is finished in white powder coating. The door has a bonding stud and the enclosure a grounding stud.
The inner panel is 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm). From the drawing: a 9.30 x 7.30 in door opening, 3.35 in usable depth, 9.15 x 7.15 in clear space on the door and an 11.50 in overall height including brackets. Shipping weight is 10 lbs (4.54 kg), boxed.
It is UL 508A and CSA listed for Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP66. Where 316 stainless is required for the same size, the equivalent is 1414N4PHS16I.
