The 1414N4PHSSE is a square 6 x 6 x 4 in (152 x 152 x 102 mm) Type 4X junction box in 304 stainless steel from the 1414 N4 PH SS Series. The square format suits compact terminal wiring, junction or instrument applications where the enclosure may be hosed down, stay very wet, or face corrosion.
Construction is 16 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, left in a natural stainless, smooth brushed finish. A continuous stainless steel hinged cover closes onto a seamless poured-in place gasket and is secured with stainless steel clamps and screws. Welded brackets are provided for mounting the enclosure, and inside, tapped studs carry the included removable 14 gauge inner panel, which is finished in white powder coating. The door has a bonding stud and the enclosure a grounding stud.
Its inner panel measures 4.88 x 4.88 in (124 x 124 mm). The drawing lists a 5.30 x 5.30 in door opening, 3.35 in usable depth, 5.15 x 5.15 in of clear space on the door and a 7.50 in overall height including brackets. The shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg) and it is packed in a box.
It is UL 508A and CSA listed for Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP66. Where 316 stainless is required for the same size, the equivalent is 1414N4PHS16E.
