The 1414N4PHS16G4 is an 8 x 6 x 4 in (203 x 152 x 102 mm) Type 4X junction box built from 316 stainless steel in the 1414 N4 PH SS Series. Compared with the 3.5 in deep 1414N4PHS16G, it adds half an inch of depth for bulkier terminals or instruments while keeping the same 8 x 6 in face. It is aimed at electricians, OEMs and maintenance teams equipping wet, hose-down or corrosive areas.
The enclosure is formed from 16 gauge 316 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, and the cover and body are left natural stainless with a smooth brushed finish. The continuous stainless steel hinged cover is held closed by stainless steel clamps and screws and seals on a seamless poured-in place gasket. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting. A removable 14 gauge inner panel, finished in white powder coating, mounts on tapped studs, and a bonding stud on the door plus a grounding stud in the enclosure simplify earthing.
The inner panel is 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm). The drawing gives a 7.30 x 5.30 in door opening, 3.35 in usable depth, 7.15 x 5.15 in of clear space on the door and a 9.50 in overall height with brackets. The shipping weight is 7 lbs (3.18 kg), boxed.
Ratings include UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001) and IEC 60529, IP66. The matching 304 stainless model is 1414N4PHSSG4.
