The 1414N4PHS16G is an 8 x 6 x 3.5 in (203 x 152 x 89 mm) Type 4X junction box in 316 stainless steel from the 1414 N4 PH SS Series. At 3.5 in deep it is the shallowest model in the series, for panel builders and electricians who need a low-profile enclosure for instruments, terminals or control devices in hose-down, wet or corrosive environments.
The enclosure is formed from 16 gauge 316 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, and the cover and body are left natural stainless with a smooth brushed finish. The continuous stainless steel hinged cover is held closed by stainless steel clamps and screws and seals on a seamless poured-in place gasket. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting. A removable 14 gauge inner panel, finished in white powder coating, mounts on tapped studs, and a bonding stud on the door plus a grounding stud in the enclosure simplify earthing.
The inner panel measures 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm). The drawing lists a door opening of 7.30 x 5.30 in, 2.85 in of usable depth, a 7.15 x 5.15 in clear space on the door and an overall height of 9.50 in including brackets. Shipping weight is 6 lbs (2.72 kg), and it ships in a box.
