The 1414N4PHS16C4 is the smallest enclosure in the 1414 N4 PH SS Series: a 6 x 4 x 4 in (152 x 102 x 102 mm) Type 4X junction box in 316 stainless steel with a continuous hinge door and clamps. It suits electricians, instrument technicians and OEM engineers who need a compact terminal or instrument box where equipment is hosed down, very wet, or exposed to corrosion.
The enclosure is formed from 16 gauge 316 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, and the cover and body are left natural stainless with a smooth brushed finish. The continuous stainless steel hinged cover is held closed by stainless steel clamps and screws and seals on a seamless poured-in place gasket. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting. A removable 14 gauge inner panel, finished in white powder coating, mounts on tapped studs, and a bonding stud on the door plus a grounding stud in the enclosure simplify earthing.
The included inner panel measures 4.88 x 2.88 in (124 x 73 mm). The manufacturer drawing shows a 5.30 x 3.30 in door opening, a usable depth of 3.35 in and a clear space of 5.15 x 3.15 in available on the door; with its mounting brackets the enclosure is 7.50 in high overall. Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg), packed in a box.
The enclosure is UL 508A and CSA listed for Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001) and complies with IEC 60529, IP66. The 304 stainless version is 1414N4PHSSC4.
