Hammond ST483612SS 48x36x12 in Sloped Top Type 4X Stainless Enclosure

The ST483612SS is a 48 in high, 36 in wide, 12 in deep Eclipse ST sloped top enclosure for large wall-mounted control systems. It gives panel builders, electricians and OEMs a Type 4X stainless steel housing for electrical or electronic equipment in harsh, industrial environments, with a sloped top that keeps water from resting on the enclosure.

Construction is formed 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth and a smooth brushed natural stainless finish. A formed lip excludes flowing liquids and contaminants and a seamless poured-in place gasket seals the door. As a 36 in wide enclosure it has a door alignment guide. The door uses quarter turn latches that require a tool, 304 stainless hinges and stainless steel hinge pins, and it is removable and interchangeable.

The ordering table gives H1 48.00 in, H2 52.35 in (1330 mm), W 36.00 in and D 12.00 in. The drawing shows a 34.31 in wide by 46.32 in high door opening, a 35.97 in wide door and a 70° slope. Sizes over 24 in (600 mm) wide require an inner panel to maintain UL/CSA; the EP4836 panel measures 46.20 x 34.20 in and mounts on collar studs.

Wall mounting holes are 0.50 in diameter on 34.50 x 46.50 in centres, and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers is included. A mounting foot kit is required to maintain UL/CSA external mounting requirements. Bonding and grounding studs are fitted.

The ST483612SS carries UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 ratings, complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and ships boxed at 148 lbs (67.13 kg).
