The SKT011409NC-C is the Celsius-scale version of the SKT Series normally closed (NC) thermostat. It provides air temperature control and monitoring in electrical cabinets and is intended for heaters and heater fans: its contact opens when rising temperature reaches the set point, shutting the heater off. It suits panel builders and OEMs working to metric specifications.
The sensing element is a thermostatic bi-metal driving a snap-action contact, with an adjustment range of 0 to 60°C (30 to 140°F) and a switching difference of + or - 3 K (+ or - 4°F). The NC setting knob has a red imprint. Switching capacity is 15A @ 120VAC, 10A @ 240VAC and 30W @ DC, and noise suppression is N according to VDE 0875.
Dimensions in the ordering table are 2.8 x 1.5 x 1.4 (height x width x depth). The housing is flame retardant plastic rated UL94V0, colored gray, with IP20 protection. A 2 pole terminal accepts AWG 14 (2.5 mm²) wire, and the unit clips onto 35 or 38 mm DIN rail using the included clip.
Per the instructions, it should be installed by qualified staff in the upper part of the cabinet, as far as possible from heat-creating components, with its ventilation slots uncovered. For an NC thermostat, set the dial to the required minimum temperature plus the highest possible hysteresis. The SKT011409NC-C carries UL Recognized Component, cUL Recognized Component and CE approvals, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and has a shipping weight of 0.18 lb (0.08 kg).
