The SHG14008 is the 150 W model in the SHG Series of PTC enclosure heaters and uses the series' longest body, listed at 8.70 in (221 mm). It is suited to engineers and maintenance teams who need a higher heat output to protect enclosed electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment from low temperatures, condensation and corrosion.
A self-regulating PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resistor produces the heat, and an anodized extruded aluminum heating body distributes it. The result is a stable temperature environment within the enclosure that lets critical components perform with consistent reliability for longer periods.
The SHG14008 is rated 150 W at 68°F (20°C) ambient and runs on AC 110-250 V. Its maximum inrush current is 7.5 A, the highest in the series, which should be considered when selecting the Normally Closed thermostat or humidistat that switches it and the supply circuit. Push-type terminals accept stranded and solid wire from AWG 20 to AWG 16 (0.5-1.5 mm²).
The drawing shows a 8.460 in (214.9 mm) length and a 2.000 in (50.8 mm) by 2.800 in (71.1 mm) profile. The heater clips onto 35 mm DIN rail (clip included).
