Hammond SHG14006 75W PTC Enclosure Heater, AC 110-250V

The SHG14006 is the 75 W heater in the SHG Series, sharing the 5.50 in (140 mm) body of the 60 W and 100 W models. It gives controls engineers and maintenance teams a mid-range output for keeping enclosed electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment protected from low temperatures, condensation and corrosion.

The element is a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resistor with a self-regulating surface temperature, mounted in an anodized extruded aluminum heating body. The design maintains a stable temperature environment within the enclosure so that critical components can run with consistent reliability for longer periods.

The SHG14006 is rated 75 W at a 68°F (20°C) ambient temperature and operates on AC 110-250 V. Its maximum inrush current is 4.5 A, so the controlling Normally Closed thermostat or humidistat and the supply circuit should be chosen with that start-up current in mind. Push-type terminals accept stranded and solid wire from AWG 20 to AWG 16 (0.5-1.5 mm²) for quick wiring.

Per the drawing, the heater measures 5.510 in (140 mm) long with a 2.000 in (50.8 mm) by 2.800 in (71.1 mm) profile. It clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail with the included clip. Protection is IP20 and Protection Class I with a 1600 V test voltage, and the unit carries UL Recognized Component, cUL Recognized Component and CE approvals. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, with a shipping weight of 1.5 lb (0.68 kg).
