Hammond RASV190120BK1 1U Vented Rack Shelf, 20 in Deep, 42 lb

The RASV190120BK1 is a 1U fixed, vented rack shelf for standard 19-inch EIA-compliant racks and cabinets. It gives IT, AV and industrial users a universal support surface for equipment that cannot be directly rack-mounted — network appliances, amplifiers and media devices, small servers, UPS units, test gear and peripherals. The vented pattern (0.24 x 1.50 in venting slots) helps air move through the shelf where heat build-up matters, while the solid version RASU190120BK1 is offered for maximum surface support.

Construction is 16-gauge mild steel with a stiffener lip folded up at the back only, and the finish is a textured black powder coat that is GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant, supporting indoor air quality and environmental compliance requirements.

The drawing for RASV190120BK1 shows a front panel 19.01 in (483 mm) wide by 1.72 in (44 mm) high with four 0.25 x 0.38 in mounting slots on 18.32 in (465 mm) centres, an inside shelf width of 17.36–17.50 in (441–444 mm) and a 3.50 in (89 mm) rear lip height. Mounting hardware is not supplied with the shelf.

Because the RAS Series design is universal, the shelf can be installed internally as an equipment shelf or externally as a work surface, making it a flexible fit for data centres, network closets and telecom rooms, broadcast racks and industrial control enclosures. The series is tested to double the suggested load rating; the part drawing notes a maximum weight of 40 lb. Shipping weight is 11.99 lbs (5.44 kg).
