Hammond RASV190112BK1 1U 12-Inch Deep Vented Rack Shelf, 42 lb

The RASV190112BK1 is a 1U vented fixed rack shelf from the RAS Series, built to support non-rackmount equipment inside standard 19-inch racks and cabinets. It is a practical choice for IT and network closets, AV and broadcast racks, telecom rooms, industrial control panels and lab or test benches where amplifiers, media devices, small servers, UPS units or peripherals need a solid surface rather than rack ears.

The shelf is formed from mild steel in 16-gauge thickness and finished in a black textured powder coat. The vented surface uses 0.24 x 1.50 in slots to let air pass through supported equipment, and a stiffener lip folded up at the back helps keep loads in place and adds rigidity. If a closed surface is preferred, the solid (un-vented) equivalent in the same size is RASU190112BK1.

Nominal size is 1.75 in x 19 in x 12 in (44 mm x 483 mm x 305 mm), with the drawing showing an overall width of 19.01 in (483 mm), a 12.00 in (305 mm) depth and a 1.72 in (44 mm) front flange. Usable shelf width is 17.50 in (444 mm). Suggested load capacity for this 1U 16-gauge shelf is 42 lbs (19 kg); the drawing notes a maximum weight of 40 lb. Hammond states RAS Series shelves were tested to double the suggested load rating.

Mounting is universal: the front flange carries four 0.25 x 0.38 in slots on 18.32 in (465 mm) centres so RASV190112BK1 fits any standard EIA-compliant rack or cabinet, and it can also be mounted externally as a work surface. Mounting hardware is not supplied with the shelf. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant, TAA compliant and made in Canada.
