Hammond PJU864LF 8x6x4 Solid Cover Type 4X Box, Flange Mount

The PJU864LF is the solid-cover, flange-mount member of the 8 x 6 x 4 PJU size: an 8.05 x 6.27 x 4.13 in (204 x 159 x 105 mm) fiberglass polyester junction box with two glued polycarbonate flanges. The flanges carry (8) R0.155 in (R3.94 mm) slots, spaced 8.75 to 8.88 in on the drawing, and bring overall height to 9.63 in (244.59 mm).

PJU Series enclosures are designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and are suited to high-temperature or highly corrosive conditions and places that are hosed down or very wet. This part is rated UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66.

Both box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors and a 0.13 in (3.30 mm) wall that can be punched, cut or drilled. A molded hinge with a stainless steel pin carries the door, one lockable stainless steel snap latch on center secures it and accepts a padlock, and a closed cell neoprene gasket seals it.

Four #10-32 brass inserts and plated carbon steel screws are provided for the optional 14R0705 inner panel, 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm), available in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, or 0.125 in fiberglass. The flanges fasten to #10-32 brass inserts with stainless steel screws. The enclosure is rated 130°C to -40°C, has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index, ships at 4 lbs (1.81 kg), and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
