The PJU16148 is a 16 x 14 x 8 in Type 4X polyester junction box with a solid lift-off cover and four polycarbonate feet. At 8.13 in deep it offers more room than the smaller PJU sizes for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and it is suited to locations that are hosed down, very wet, hot or highly corrosive.

The enclosure and matching cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering, and can be easily punched, cut or drilled. The cover is held by four stainless steel captive cover screws in #10-32 brass inserts with retaining O-rings, sealing on a captive, oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket. Four more #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws are provided for an inner panel or terminal kit.
The polycarbonate feet attach with stainless steel screws in brass inserts, and mounting hardware is included. The PJU16148 is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and is rated IEC 60529 IP66. Operating temperature spans -40°C to 130°C (-40°F to 266°F), the impact index is 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), and it is REACH and RoHS compliant.
