The PJHMI2016L is the snap latch model of the 20 x 16 PJHMI Series polycarbonate HMI hinged cover kit. It protects an HMI, instrument or other electronics that need routine attention, and opens by hand without tools. The light gray solid opaque cover keeps the device concealed when closed.
According to the part drawing, the cover closes with two stainless steel lockable snap latches, and the installation notes describe a padlock feature on the latch that can be used to prevent unintentional opening. The replacement snap latch for the series is part number PCJLLRSH. The box and standard cover are injected polycarbonate, the hinge pin is 316 stainless steel, and the seal is a Formed-In-Place (FIP) polyurethane gasket in a continuous channel. The kit is UV stabilized for outdoor use and rated from -31°F (-35°C) to 266°F (130°C).
Frame dimensions are 19.85 in (504 mm) H x 16.07 in (408 mm) W x 2.27 in (58 mm) D, with a nominal 20 x 16 x 2 in size. The viewing area and maximum panel cutout are 18.49 x 14.71 in, and it will fit Allied Moulded enclosure sizes 24 x 24 and larger. Shipping weight is 10 lbs (4.54 kg).
Mounting uses 18 fasteners supplied as two hardware kits, installed in 7/32 or #2 (.220 dia) holes and torqued to 15 - 20 in-lbs, for walls .059" to .250" thick. The PJHMI2016L is a listed UL component (File E487574) and CSA listed for Types 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Its clear counterpart is PJHMI2016CCL; the optional prop arm is PJHMIPROP2016.
