Hammond PJHMI2016HTP 20x16 Opaque HMI Cover Kit, Tamperproof Screw Closure

The PJHMI2016HTP is the tamperproof screw cover model in the 20 x 16 size of the PJHMI Series polycarbonate HMI hinged cover kits. Choose it when an HMI, instrument or electronic device in an enclosure wall needs routine attention but the cover should be closed with tamperproof screws rather than standard screws. The light gray solid opaque cover hides the device when closed.

Both box and standard cover are injected polycarbonate. The cover hangs on a 316 stainless steel hinge pin and seals on a Formed-In-Place (FIP) polyurethane gasket in a continuous channel. The part drawing shows two #10-32 brass inserts with 316 stainless steel captive cover screws and a retaining O-ring. The kit is UV stabilized for outdoor use, with a service temperature range of -31°F (-35°C) to 266°F (130°C).

The frame is 19.85 in (504 mm) high by 16.07 in (408 mm) wide by 2.27 in (58 mm) deep, with a nominal size of 20 x 16 x 2 in, and a viewing area of 18.49 x 14.71 in. It will fit Allied Moulded enclosure sizes 24 x 24 and larger and ships at 10 lbs (4.54 kg).

For installation, the 18.49 x 14.71 in maximum panel cutout is marked from the frame, holes are drilled at 7/32 or #2 (.220 dia), and the cover is mounted with the supplied hardware torqued to 15 - 20 in-lbs. This size uses two hardware kits and 18 fasteners, for mounting surfaces .059" to .250" thick.

The PJHMI2016HTP carries UL File E487574 as a listed component for Types 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 or 13 enclosures and is CSA listed for the same types; it is RoHS and REACH compliant. The clear version is PJHMI2016CCHTP and the optional prop arm is PJHMIPROP2016.
