Hammond PJ864H 8x6x4 Hinged Cover Fiberglass Type 4X Box

The PJ864H is a Type 4X polyester junction box with a hinged screw cover, sized 8.00 in H x 6.12 in W x 4.13 in D (203 x 155 x 105 mm) in the PJ Series ordering table. It is intended for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and for equipment that may be hosed down, be very wet, or sit in high temperature or highly corrosive environments.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray, with a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall thickness shown on the drawing. The material is easily punched, cut or drilled, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect it against outdoor weathering. The cover pivots on a 316 stainless steel hinge and is closed by two 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings in #10-32 brass inserts. A captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket provides a positive seal.

Four 316 stainless steel feet mount to the rear on brass inserts, giving a 9.83 in (249.77 mm) overall height on the drawing. The optional 14R0705 inner panel, 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm), or a terminal kit fits the #10-32 threaded brass inserts inside, and mounting hardware is included. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).

The PJ864H is rated UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F). It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
