Hammond PJ20168H 20x16x8 In Hinged Screw-Cover Type 4X Fiberglass Box

The PJ20168H combines the largest PJ polyester junction box size, 20.00 x 16.00 x 8.13 in (508 x 406 x 207 mm; nominal 20 x 16 x 8 in on the part page), with a hinged screw cover. It is aimed at control housings for electric, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, instrument enclosures, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that need frequent access in wet, hose-down, hot or corrosive environments.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. According to the PJ20168H drawing, the cover swings on a 316 stainless steel hinge and closes with two #10-32 brass inserts and 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings onto a formed-in-place (FIP) polyurethane gasket. Wall thickness is 0.14 in (3.56 mm).

The optional P2068 inner panel, 18.44 x 14.44 in (468 x 367 mm), mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. Back panels are shown in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.250 in fiberglass.

Four 316 stainless steel feet fasten to rear brass inserts with 316 stainless screws, for 21.50 in (546.05 mm) over the feet and 0.34 in (8.74 mm) holes. The PJ20168H is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed for Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. Shipping weight is 17 lbs (7.71 kg); REACH and RoHS compliant.
