Hammond PJ864 8x6x4 Fiberglass Type 4X/6P Junction Box

The PJ864 is an 8.00 in H x 6.12 in W x 4.13 in D (203 x 155 x 105 mm) Type 4X polyester junction box with a lift-off screw cover. Part of the PJ Series, it is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and provides insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet.

The box and matching cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish, easily punched, cut or drilled, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering. Four 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings thread into #10-32 brass inserts to hold the cover, sealing on a captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket.

For mounting, four 316 stainless steel feet attach to brass inserts at the rear with 316 stainless steel screws; the drawing gives 9.83 in (249.77 mm) overall height with feet. The optional 14R0705 inner panel measures 6.75 x 4.88 in (171 x 124 mm) and mounts on #10-32 threaded brass inserts, with hardware included. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).

As a lift-off cover model, the PJ864 is listed Type 6P and rated IP68, alongside UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), and is RoHS and REACH compliant. The hinged version is PJ864H.
