Where a small device or indicator needs to stay visible, the PJ664RTW provides a 6.10 x 6.10 x 4.18 in (155 x 155 x 106 mm) Type 4X junction box with a raised window cover. The bonded polycarbonate viewing window lets technicians check contents without opening the enclosure, making it a fit for compact instrument enclosures and terminal points in wet, hosed-down, hot or corrosive locations.
The body and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester finished in gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors, and the material can be punched, cut or drilled easily. One stainless steel lockable twist latch on center closes the lid and accepts a padlock. The hinge is stainless steel, and the drawing calls for a closed cell neoprene gasket, described in the series data as captive and oil resistant.
Inside, the optional 14R0505 panel (4.88 x 4.88 in / 124 x 124 mm) mounts to threaded brass inserts, and the drawing lists back panel stock of 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, or 0.125 in fiberglass. The rear has four #10-32 brass inserts for the four stainless steel mounting feet; mounting hardware is included.
The PJ664RTW holds UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings, complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Operating range is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), impact index 6.78J (5 ft/lb), and shipping weight 3 lbs (1.36 kg). Its solid-lid counterpart is PJ664RT.
