Hammond PJ20168T 20 x 16 x 8 in Twist Latch Fiberglass Enclosure

At 20.00 in high, 16.00 in wide and 8.13 in deep (508 x 406 x 207 mm) per the series ordering table, the PJ20168T is a large Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester wallmount enclosure with twist-latch closure. The part page lists its nominal size as 20 x 16 x 8 in (508 x 406 x 203 mm). It suits instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings exposed to washdown, heavy moisture, high temperatures or highly corrosive conditions.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray, UV-inhibited finish for outdoor weathering, and can be easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing gives a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall thickness. Two lockable 316 stainless steel butterfly-type twist latches fasten the door, which is supported by a continuous 316 stainless steel hinge; the latches include a padlocking provision. A captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket seals the enclosure.

Inside, four #10-32 brass inserts receive the optional P2068 inner panel, 18.44 x 14.44 in (468 x 367 mm), in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass (0.250 in / 6.35 mm per the drawing), with hardware included. Four 316 stainless steel feet mount to rear brass inserts.

The PJ20168T carries UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 per CSA 22.2 No. 94 listings and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
