Hammond PJ20168L 20 x 16 x 8 in Snap Latch Fiberglass Enclosure

The PJ20168L is the tallest size in this snap-latch group: a Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester wallmount enclosure listed at 20.00 x 16.00 x 8.13 in (508 x 406 x 207 mm) in the series ordering table, with a nominal part-page size of 20 x 16 x 8 in (508 x 406 x 203 mm). It is designed as an instrument enclosure, junction box, terminal wiring enclosure or control housing for electric, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in wet, washdown, high-temperature or highly corrosive settings.

Compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester forms both box and cover, finished in gray with enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering and easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing shows a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall. The door runs on a continuous 316 stainless steel hinge and is held by two lockable 316 stainless steel draw-type snap latches with a padlocking provision. A captive oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket provides a positive seal.

The optional P2068 inner panel measures 18.44 x 14.44 in (468 x 367 mm) and mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws, hardware included. It is offered in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass, the last drawn at 0.250 in (6.35 mm) thick. Four 316 stainless steel feet mount to rear brass inserts for hanging the enclosure.

The PJ20168L is listed UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. Rated operating temperature is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and impact index is 6.78 J (5 ft/lb). It is RoHS and REACH compliant with a shipping weight of 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
