The PJ18168HP42 is the largest enclosure in the PJPBLC Series: a hinged-cover fiberglass polyester pushbutton box with forty-two 30.5mm holes. It is built for large operator stations and control desks on equipment that may be hosed down or be very wet, or in high-temperature or highly corrosive environments.
The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and a 0.14 in (3.57 mm) wall per the drawing; the material is easily punched, cut, or drilled. The drawing specifies 316 stainless steel for the hinge, for the two captive cover screws with retaining O-rings (in #10-32 brass inserts), and for the four mounting feet and their screws. A captive oil resistant gasket, FIP polyurethane on the drawing, provides a positive seal, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering.
The enclosure measures 18.40 in H x 16.40 in W x 8.13 in D (467 mm x 417 mm x 207 mm) and ships at 16 lbs (7.26 kg). Internal threaded brass inserts accept the optional P1868 inner panel (16.88 in x 14.88 in) or a terminal kit. The lift off cover version is PJ18168P42.
The series is listed to UL 508A and CSA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP66. It operates between 130°C and -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78J (5 ft/lb), and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
