Hammond PJ12126 12x12x6 Fiberglass Type 4X/6P Junction Box

The PJ12126 is a square Type 4X polyester junction box with a lift-off screw cover and a 6.13 in depth. The PJ Series table lists it at 12.13 in H x 12.13 in W x 6.13 in D (308 x 308 x 156 mm); the part page gives 12.32 x 12.32 x 6 in (313 x 313 x 152 mm). It is built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that need insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester finished in gray, with a 0.13 in (3.30 mm) wall thickness on the drawing. The material is easily punched, cut or drilled, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering. Four 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings thread into #10-32 brass inserts, and a captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket provides a positive seal.

Four 316 stainless steel feet fix to rear brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws, and the drawing shows 13.96 in (354.66 mm) overall height with feet. The optional 14R1111 inner panel, 10.75 x 10.88 in (273 x 276 mm), or a terminal kit attaches to #10-32 threaded brass inserts, with mounting hardware included. Shipping weight is 8 lbs (3.63 kg).

As a lift-off cover model, the PJ12126 is marked Type 6P/IP68 in the series table, in addition to UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), and is RoHS and REACH compliant. A hinged cover version, PJ12126H, is also listed in the series.
