Hammond PJ1086R 10 x 8 x 6 in Raised Lift-Off Cover Junction Box

The PJ1086R offers extra depth over the 4 in models: it is a 10.13 x 8.26 x 6.13 in (257 x 210 x 156 mm) Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester junction box with a raised lift-off solid cover. The series table marks this solid lift-off version as meeting Type 6P. It is designed for instrument enclosures, junction boxes, terminal wiring and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings where equipment may be hosed down, very wet, hot or in highly corrosive surroundings.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. The cover is fastened with four stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings in #10-32 brass inserts, and the drawing specifies a closed cell neoprene gasket that the series describes as captive and oil resistant.

The optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws, hardware included, in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass. Four stainless steel mounting feet attach to rear brass inserts with stainless steel screws for wall mounting.

The PJ1086R is UL 508A listed Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL listed to the same types per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 6 lbs (2.72 kg).
