Hammond HYW483616SS 48x36x16 Hygienic 304 Stainless Wall Enclosure

The HYW483616SS is the largest size in the HYW hygienic wallmount range: 48 in high, 36 in wide and 16 in deep (1,219 x 914 x 406 mm). It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh, hygienic environments, giving panel builders both height and depth for bigger assemblies in hose-down areas.

It is made of formed, smooth 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth, and the cover and enclosure have a natural stainless #4 dairy finish. The 25° sloped top prevents water from resting on top and offers potential for controls mounting, and door stiffeners are provided where required.

Interior hinges give a 105 degree opening and can be removed for reverse swing. The hygienic blue silicone gasket is mounted around the entire door edge and can be removed and re-installed, with HYG4836 as its replacement. Latches are hygienic 316 stainless quarter turns that require a tool, and an internal alignment guide limits door sag. Per the drawing, the door opening is 45.25 x 33.54 in, overall height is 54.76 in and overall depth 16.86 in.

Collar studs are provided for the optional 18P4533 inner panel (45.00 x 33.00 in), and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts is included. The HYW483616SS has no pre-drilled wall mounting holes so it can be welded in place or mounted on stand-offs; a bonding stud is on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure.

It is listed UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, meets NSF/ANSI 169, and complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and IEC 60529 IP66, IP69 and IP69K. Shipping weight is 170 lbs (77.11 kg).
