The HYW363012SS is a hygienic Type 4X wallmount enclosure in 304 stainless steel, sized 36 in high by 30 in wide by 12 in deep (914 x 762 x 305 mm). It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment in harsh, hygienic environments, making it a fit for panel builders and plant electricians working in hose-down areas.
The body is formed from smooth 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth, and both cover and enclosure carry a natural stainless #4 dairy finish. A 25° sloped top keeps water from resting on the enclosure and gives room for mounting controls. Door stiffeners are added where required for strength and rigidity.
Cleaning was the priority in the door design: interior hinges open to 105 degrees and can be removed to reverse the swing, while a hygienic blue silicone gasket runs around the entire door edge and can be pulled out and re-installed for cleaning or replacement (replacement gasket HYG3630). Hygienic 316 stainless quarter-turn latches require a tool to open, and an internal alignment guide limits door sag.
Inside, collar studs accept the optional 18P3327 inner panel (33.00 x 27.00 in), and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts is included. There are no pre-drilled wall mounting holes, so the HYW363012SS can be welded in place or mounted on stand-offs. A bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure.
The enclosure is listed to UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X and 12 and IEC 60529 IP66, IP69 and IP69K, and meets NSF/ANSI 169. It ships at 110 lbs (49.90 kg).
