Hammond HYW24248SS 24-Inch Square Hygienic Stainless Wallmount, 8 In Deep

The HYW24248SS is the 24 x 24 x 8 in square model of the HYW Series of Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Wallmount Enclosures. It is made to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it against harsh, hygienic environments, and gives integrators a wide, shallow cabinet for wallmount installations that are cleaned by hose.

The body and cover are formed, smooth 304 stainless steel, natural stainless with a smooth #4 dairy finish, and all seams are continuously welded and ground smooth. Its top slopes at 25° so water will not sit on it, while also offering potential for controls mounting. Tool-operated hygienic quarter-turn latches in 316 stainless steel secure the door, stiffeners add strength and rigidity where required, and an internal alignment guide limits sag.

Interior hinges give a 105 degree opening and can be removed for reverse door swing or on-site modifications. The hygienic blue silicone gasket mounts around the entire door edge and can be removed and re-installed for cleaning or replacement (HYG2424). Collar studs for the optional 18P2121 inner panel (21.00 in x 21.00 in, not included) are provided, together with a hardware kit containing panel mounting nuts.

The enclosure is 24.00 in (610 mm) high at H1, 24.00 in (610 mm) wide and 8.00 in (203 mm) deep. According to its drawing, overall height with the sloped top is 27.03 in, overall depth is 8.86 in, the door opening is 21.25 in x 21.54 in and the clear space available on the door is 17.88 in x 18.17 in. The same square footprint is also offered 10 in and 12 in deep.

No wall mounting holes are pre-drilled, so the HYW24248SS can be welded in place or mounted on stand-offs. It includes a bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure, is listed UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, meets NSF/ANSI 169 and complies with IP 66, IP69 and IP69K. Shipping weight is 60 lbs (27.22 kg).
