Hammond HYW24208SS 24x20x8 In Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Enclosure

HYW24208SS is a 24 x 20 x 8 in enclosure in the HYW Series of Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Wallmount Enclosures. It gives OEMs and integrators a 24 in tall, 20 in wide cabinet to protect electrical and electronic equipment in harsh, hygienic environments, with a door and hinge design built around easy cleaning in hose-down areas.

It is formed from smooth 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth, and both cover and enclosure carry a natural stainless, smooth #4 dairy finish. The top is sloped 25°, which keeps water from resting on it and offers potential for controls mounting. Hygienic door latches are 316 stainless steel quarter turns that need a tool to open, door stiffeners are added where required for strength and rigidity, and an internal alignment guide limits door sag.

The door swings 105 degrees on interior hinges that are easily removed to reverse the swing or to modify the enclosure on site. Its hygienic blue silicone gasket runs around the whole door edge and lifts off for cleaning or replacement; the replacement part is HYG2420. Collar studs are in place for the optional 18P2117 inner panel (21.00 in x 17.00 in, not included), and the hardware kit supplies panel mounting nuts.

No wall mounting holes are pre-drilled, allowing weld-in-place or stand-off mounting. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure are provided. The HYW24208SS is listed UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, meets NSF/ANSI 169, complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and IP 66, IP69 and IP69K, and ships at 51 lbs (23.13 kg).
