Hammond HYW20208SS 20-Inch Square Hygienic Stainless Wallmount, 8 In Deep

The HYW20208SS is a square 20 x 20 in, 8 in deep enclosure from the HYW Series of Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Wallmount Enclosures. It suits panel builders and facilities teams who need to house electrical or electronic equipment in harsh, hygienic environments where regular hose-down cleaning is part of the routine.

The body and cover are formed, smooth 304 stainless steel, natural stainless with a smooth #4 dairy finish, and all seams are continuously welded and ground smooth. Its top slopes at 25° so water will not sit on it, while also offering potential for controls mounting. Tool-operated hygienic quarter-turn latches in 316 stainless steel secure the door, stiffeners add strength and rigidity where required, and an internal alignment guide limits sag.

The internal hinge design supports easy cleaning in hose-down environments; the hinges open the door to 105 degrees and can be removed for a reverse swing or on-site work. A hygienic blue silicone gasket, replacement part HYG2020, mounts around the door edge and can be removed and re-installed for cleaning. Collar studs are provided for mounting the optional 18P1717 inner panel (17.00 in x 17.00 in, not included), along with a hardware kit of panel mounting nuts.

The enclosure measures 20.00 in (508 mm) high at H1, 20.00 in (508 mm) wide and 8.00 in (203 mm) deep; the drawing gives 23.03 in overall height with the sloped top, 8.86 in overall depth, a 17.25 in x 17.54 in door opening and 13.88 in x 14.17 in of clear space on the door. With no pre-drilled wall mounting holes, the HYW20208SS can be welded in place or mounted on stand-offs. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure.
