Hammond HYJ16138SS 16x13x8 In Hygienic Type 4X 304 Stainless Enclosure

HYJ16138SS is the largest size in the HYJ Series of Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Junction Boxes, with an 8.00 in deep body for larger component layouts. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh, hygienic environments, and serves junction box and wallmount applications in hose-down areas.

The enclosure is formed 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth, and the cover and body carry a natural stainless, smooth #4 dairy finish. A 3° slope on all four sides keeps water from sitting on top whichever way the box is mounted. The cover uses hex head design screws and can be removed completely for modifications, while the door-edge silicone gasket can be removed and re-installed for cleaning or replacement using part HYG1613.

Studs for the inner panel and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts are provided. Because there are no pre-drilled wall mounting holes, you can weld the box in place or use stand-offs. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure are fitted. The HYJ16138SS carries UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 12, 4, 4X listings, meets NSF/ANSI 169, complies with IP69 and IP69K, and ships boxed at 20 lbs (9.07 kg).
