Hammond HYJ1294SS 12x9x4 In Hygienic 304 Stainless Junction Box

HYJ1294SS is the 12 x 9 x 4 in nominal model of the HYJ Series Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Junction Box. It gives panel builders and facilities teams a washdown-ready enclosure for electrical and electronic equipment in harsh, hygienic environments, in either junction box or wallmount applications.

The body is formed 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams that are ground smooth, and the cover and enclosure share a natural stainless, smooth #4 dairy finish. Every side is sloped 3° so water drains off rather than resting on top, regardless of how the box is oriented. The hex head screw cover can be taken off entirely when you need to modify the box, and the silicone gasket around the door edge can be removed and re-installed for cleaning; HYG129 is the replacement.

Measured dimensions are 11.94 in (303 mm) high, 8.88 in (226 mm) wide and 4.00 in (102 mm) deep. From the drawing, the door is 11.12 in x 8.19 in, the opening is 10.00 in x 6.10 in, usable depth is 3.43 in and the clear space available on the door is 9.37 in x 6.31 in. The optional 14R0907 inner panel (8.75 in x 6.88 in) is sold separately; mounting studs and a panel-nut hardware kit come with the enclosure.

No wall mounting holes are pre-drilled, so it can be welded in place or stood off from the surface. A bonding stud sits on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure. Listings include UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 12, 4, 4X and NSF/ANSI 169, with compliance to NEMA 3R, 12, 4, 4X and IP69/IP69K. The HYJ1294SS ships boxed at 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
