Hammond HYJ14116SS 14x11x6 In Hygienic Stainless Type 4X Junction Box

The HYJ14116SS steps the HYJ Series up to a 6.00 in deep body, giving more room for equipment in a hygienic Type 4X stainless steel junction box. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh, hygienic environments, for junction box and wallmount applications where the enclosure is cleaned by hose.

Like the rest of the series it is formed from 304 stainless steel, with continuously welded seams ground smooth and a natural stainless, smooth #4 dairy finish on cover and enclosure. All four sides slope 3° so water runs off in any orientation. Hex head screws hold a cover that can be fully removed for modifications, and the silicone gasket around the whole door edge can be removed for cleaning and re-installed; its replacement part is HYG1411.

The enclosure is 14.15 in (359 mm) high, 11.09 in (282 mm) wide and 6.00 in (152 mm) deep, with a nominal size of 14 x 11 x 6 in. The drawing gives a 13.12 in x 10.19 in door, an 11.06 in x 8.10 in opening, 5.43 in of usable depth, 6.53 in overall depth and 11.37 in x 8.31 in of clear space on the door. Studs accept the optional 14R1109 inner panel (10.75 in x 8.88 in, not included), and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts is supplied.

Wall mounting holes are not pre-drilled, so the box can be welded in place or fitted on stand-offs. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure. The HYJ14116SS is listed UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 12, 4, 4X, meets NSF/ANSI 169, complies with IP69 and IP69K, and ships in a box at 19 lbs (8.62 kg).
