Hammond EN4SD483610SSR 48x36x10-Inch Quarter-Turn 304 Stainless Enclosure

The EN4SD483610SSR is an Eclipse Series Type 4X wallmount enclosure in 304 stainless steel, measuring 48 in x 36 in x 10 in (1,219 mm x 914 mm x 254 mm). It offers a large mounting face at a moderate 10 in depth for electrical and electronic equipment that must be protected against harsh, industrial environments, and is a common fit for control panel builders and maintenance electricians.

The enclosure is formed 14 gauge stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth. A formed lip on the opening excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in place gasket seals the hinged door. The door is secured by Type A stainless steel slotted quarter turns, hangs on hidden hinges with stainless steel hinge pins, and is positioned by a door alignment guide provided on 36 in wide enclosures. It can be removed for modifications, and adapter kit EHLLSAK lets it swing the other way. Cover and enclosure have a natural, smooth brushed stainless finish.

The part drawing shows a 34.41 in x 46.31 in door opening, a 35.97 in x 47.97 in door and 30.65 in x 43.88 in of clear space available on the door. Wall mounting holes are 0.50 in diameter on 34.50 in x 46.50 in centres, and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers comes with it. The optional EP4836 inner panel (46.20 in x 34.20 in) mounts on the collar studs and is required at this width to maintain UL/CSA.

The EN4SD483610SSR carries UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 ratings, complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IP66, and ships boxed at 131 lbs (59.42 kg). The 316 version is EN4SD483610S16R.
